First of all, I’d like to take a moment to let everyone who took the time out of their busy day to come to our seminars, at both Indigo and Texworld, how much we appreciate you. The audience was incredibly enthusiastic about our subject matter and in general, the mood in New York seemed more positive than I’ve seen it in a few years.
The standing only crowd seemed really jazzed when we asked them if they could guess what we forecast to be the #1 trend going into 2012. Some of the comments were kind of funny but our seminars are meant to bring a bit of levity to everyone’s day. Check out our prediction below:
If January was an indicator of what’s to come this year, we are in for an incredible ride! Know your customer, keep an eye on price points, and make sure you give your customer a reason to buy with COLOR!

SPRING INTO COLOR
With Spring about to hit the stores, one of the hottest trends around is Pastels! These super sweet sherbet shades are everywhere from apparel to cosmetics to accessories. Girly and flirty fabrics’ and finishes from head to toe will put that extra Spring in your step this season!
Easter Parade
Nails to Toes
Candy Colored Jewels
Here is a sampling of our Spring 2013 storyboards in our ranges: Neutrality, Viva la Vivid & In Transition.
With February approaching, the end of the cold weather is in sight. However, until spring is officially here, we will have to be content to warm ourselves with color! Keep the chill at bay by infusing your home and wardrobe with the season’s freshest colors. Add shades of bright lime, golden wheat, and gray blue to your life this month!
An unexpected hue like celadon green will add an instant splash of interest anywhere. Lime pillows are abloom with images of silkscreened flowers. Have a wonderful night out with your valentine and a crystal-encrusted clutch. A large basket is woven from grass green reeds. On slushy days, sport a pair of pear-colored rain boots.
Heat up the coolest of days with pale yellow. Sip soup around a table painted straw yellow. Beads the color of melted butter are strung to make a necklace. Light up your life and your foyer with a hand-blown glass pendant. With tights and a cardigan, a summer-yellow sundress makes a winter appearance.
A chic swath of gray blue is so very 2012. Accessorize your outfit with circular earrings in feather blue. Inlaid slate tile adds a new texture to a coffee table. Complete a formal look with a patterned waistcoat. A series of tumblers take a tumble in a buxton blue glaze.
With the doldrums of winter getting spirits down, there is no faster way to lift them than with color. Bold hues of electric green, warm shades of soft yellow, classic cool tones of blue: incorporating fresh color into your space and closet will also give you a fresh outlook!

Well , I can tell you that when we’re at trade shows, seminars, or those times when I make personal calls to one of our accounts; it is becoming crystal clear, the mood has become more upbeat and positive. Remember that first day at school when you put on that new outfit you or your Mom bought just to make that great first impression? We’re all straight “A” students at this stage because the road ahead has not been tread on yet. No test yet no pressure, just that great feeling that this year we will excel because that’s the target goal. Do you know what happens when you’re exposed to positive people with positive thought and plans and dreams? You start to see things differently.
So let’s create a snowball of positive feelings, ideas and motivation. It depends on you, become that person that will add to the recovery of our industry.
