LA TEXTILE SHOW

Designers from near and far traveled West to source their Spring collections at the LA Textile Show. There was great attendance and the comments were very favorable!
Please see some of the trends shown below:
JPG GEN is all about a youthful free-for-all where anything goes! A hip mash-up of textures with haphazard juxtaposition that just works. Plaids, florals, skins, and stripes brilliantly colored melt together in perfect, random harmony.

This eclectic vibe is driven by social media and a new generation of techno-savvy fashionistas. Textiles are fun, funky and expressive, which allows the consumer to click n' buy their way to a virtual oasis.
PRIMAL FUTURISM goes off-the-map to future worlds where boundaries are broken and unexpected elements collide. Earthy and organic meets exotica with a warm color palette and exciting pops of accent color.

A melting pot of prints from around the world spice up sleek and stylish silhouettes. Carved buttons and colored zippers add diversity and visual interest.
CINEMATIC is a throwback to old Hollywood glamour with a splash dramatic deco. Abstract and gilded, a romantic period of rich opulence. Metallics and soft hues reflect off a midnight color palette.

Glittery lace, textured ruffles and luxurious silk burnout fabrics cut on the bias scream screen siren. Historic buildings serve as inspiration for graphic prints.
SPRING INTO FALL 2012
Spring may be in the air, but for designers, Fall 2012 is right around the corner. It's time to get a head start on the up coming season and what better way to get the creative juices flowing than with a fresh array of color!
The soft sea greens and blues of Spring 12 turn into rich teals
and olives for Autumn.
The brightness of Summer's red and citrus hues, cool off into calmer shades of pink with a hint of magenta.

The ever strong allure of purple still reins for Fall, but when mixed with shades of plum and a punch of pink, it is fresh and new again.

With warmer weather just beyond the April’s next raincloud, things are looking up. Dodge spring showers by ducking into the nearest retail store and stocking up on the season’s latest colors. This month hunt for hues of salmon, teal, and gray.
Soft coral is a subtle sign that sunny days are ahead. A spring fling is more festive with a raw silk clutch. Peach club chairs make a perfect pair. Fill a pearly pink vase with seasonal crocus and tulips. A demure blush skirt is emboldened with silver buttons.

Teal: the color of fresh puddles, hyacinth petals, and clear skies. Wipe wet rain boots on a turquoise mat. First to bloom, a clay necklace blossoms in shades of peacock. The last of winter’s winds are kept at bay with a whisping, green-blue scarf. Tuck spring accessories away in a teal and chocolate mosaic jewelry box.

Don’t fight April’s showers, embrace them with shades of slate. Cheer up a rainy day by turning on a charcoal table lamp. Square pillows are sewn from graphite and white tea towels. A blazer comes is cut from gunmetal gray wool. Wear suede booties with tights and a summer skirt.

Budding trees and sprouting bulbs are signs that new colors are on their way. Welcome the spring season and the moody month of April by shopping for accessories in pastel peach, light turquoise, and stone gray. Bringing new items into your home and wardrobe is sure to brighten even the dreariest of days.
Look forward to seeing you at our seminars...

Why is color so important? Why do people take such a long time to finally decide what color they should use to…?
Paint their house
Chose for their car
Wear on their body
Put on their lips
Apply to their hair
Is it because they want something to be appealing to themselves or maybe they just need to be noticed. During the times when all is right with the world the consumer will pick trendier colors, in their automobiles that add to the excitement of society. Colors like yellow, orange and even cobalt blue will be purchased while at the same time when society is flourishing people tend to wear a bit more sophisticated color that revolve around the neutrals but still contain those special pop accents to add to the story. And when society is struggling people tend to purchase neutral colors in cars. Colors like white, black and beige. But what’s unusual is when times are challenging those same people tend to spice up their wardrobe. Why is this? Let’s look at it as instant satisfaction or gratification, the feeling one gets when someone else offers a compliment. This type of reaction is immediate and directed towards them as they live their life in present time.
Ok, so if you’re not in the automotive business note that the consumer will act on emotions and always tend toward what makes them feel good!! Now isn’t that what we all strive for, making people feel good, so let’s all keep up on current events and offer the world happiness!
May we all make those around us happy but most importantly, ourselves!
