Prismatic Red Carpet
Move over Runway, it's Award's Season! And that means Red Carpets, extravagant parties and of course Hollywood's A-list strutting their stuff. With Spring in the air, there was a touch of playfulness and a vast array of COLORS! Prints, Reds, Pinks and Greens were some of the many color trends that emerged from the Golden Globes and SAG Awards Red Carpet.
Prints Appeal...Standing out in the crowd and make a personal statement with florals and stripes.

Red Hot... these Starlets set the night On Fire in crimson and scarlet.

Pink Ladies...from hot pink to deep magenta, these shades pop off the Red Carpet.

Emerald Affair...rich and luxurious shades of green stole the spotlight.
Speaking of GREEN...
Hermès Upcycled Sustainability
Leave it to Hermès to make recycling luxurious. The French fashion house has just launched a new collection, dubbed “Petit H,” that salvages defective merchandise and cutting-floor waste into high-end jewelry and decorative accessories.

Company artisans transform castoff teapot spouts into jewelry hangers, flawed crystal tableware into a set of dumbbells, and leather scraps into a dramatic necklace.
H&M Recycled Threads
This coming spring season, the mood is that of the 60s and 70s, taking what is old and making it new and fresh again. This vintage mood is not only seen in the silhouette, but is also incorporated into the fabrics. The garments have been produced using sustainable materials or using recycled PET bottles or textile waste. Now you can rejuvenate your wardrobe with a modern, sustainable look no matter what your personal style is. H&M continues working with sustainable materials to make fashion forward clothes that will soon be timeless.

The collection includes a feminine chiffon dress made from recycled polyester with a colorful garden print, a pinafore dress in organic cotton with romantic roses and a smock dress in organic cotton with an ethnic floral pattern. An organic cotton top in a small floral design or a frilly chiffon top made from recycled polyester can be combined with cropped trousers or shorts in organic cotton and/or linen.

With winter hanging on for weeks to come, it helps to think warm thoughts this February. It also helps to go to shopping and check out all of spring’s arrivals. From swimming suits to pastel pillow covers, the shops are all ready to jump into the new season. You should be getting ready too by adding fresh colors of lavender, goldenrod, and fuchsia to your wardrobe and home.
Adding lovely lilac to your life is a reminder that spring is right around the corner. Keep frigid winds at bay with a baby hat knit from periwinkle yarn. Pile iridescent orchid pillows on a comfy sofa. An earthenware bowl is glazed in variations of violet. Purple suede loafers add a splash of color to a cold and dreary day.

Deep yellow is a saturated color that transcends the seasons. Paired with tights, you can wear a golden plaid skirt year-round for a warm glow. A sun-yellow vase is banded with stripes of orange. Deflect the glare from snowdrifts with lemon-framed shades. Upholstered in mustard wool, a modern sofa is oh so square.

Bundling up with the one you love this Valentine’s Day is a perfect way to avoid the season’s chill. Celebrate the holiday in hues of hot pink. A Sadie Hawkins dance gets a spring infusion in a currant cocktail dress. Start the new semester off right, studying by the light of a magenta desk lamp. Delicate chalcedony stones dangle from a silver chain. Enliven your home with a set of unexpectedly bold, poppy-colored dining chairs.

Counting down the days until spring is much more fun if you do it while shopping. Incorporating light and cheerful colors into your house and closet will prepare you for the warmer season to come. Begin by bringing in light purples, vibrant yellows, and punchy pinks. New colors can help transport you from dull winter days to delightful spring weather in no time!
Looking forward to seeing you!
